I wrote my e-Book, "The Electronic Killer, based upon fact. The Internet abounds with conspiracy theories of how clandestine agencies of world governments have taken control of a target's vehicle and caused the driver's death. While most of the stories are not entirely true, the newer the vehicle, the higher the probably of its technology being hacked.

The protagonist in my novel, Jack McGinnis, is a master automotive technician, instructor and investigator for the Special Crash Investigations Unit of the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration. While investigation the death of his best friend, Jack determines that someone took control of Micah Hunter's late-model car.

Imagine if your car suddenly accelerated. You tried to apply the brakes but the brake controller refuses to accept the input from the brake pedal. You might attempt to shift the transmission into neutral, but the transmission controller ignores the signal from the shift lever. Out of desperation, you turn the ignition key to OFF, but it, too, is merely an input to another computer--one that has been hacked.

My novel explains how it can be done, how Jack McGinnis solves the mystery and how he stops the antagonist.
